Harry Potter Release Party!

Come join us for an evening of food, fun, games and prizes

as we await the midnight release of

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!

This event is open to teens entering grades 7 through 12. There is a $5 registration fee and a signed permission slip from a parent is required upon registration.

Registration deadline is Monday, July 11th.

Harry Potter Trivia Contest

Just a reminder:

The Harry Potter Trivia contest registration continues until July 8th. Pre-test must be returned to the Children's Department by July 8th at 5:00 pm. You will need a team name and a partner. Questions in the contest will be from all 5 books and general knowledge about Harry Potter. Come to the contest dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character. The contest will be held on July 14th. Hope to see you Muggles there.

Open House and book-signing

The Reddick Library will be hosting an Open House and book-signing to celebrate the release of Julia Durango's new children's book

"Yum! Yuck!".

Summer Reading Program

After 12 days of registration, the final count is in for the Summer Reading Programs: 443 kids signed up for "Read Around the Year" and 46 young adults signed up for "R & R @ Reddick"

Just a few reminders:

* The Harry Potter program for "Read Around the Year" is scheduled for July 14th. Anyone interested in attending must return a Harry Potter Pre-test to the children's department by 5:00 pm on July 8th.

* Everyone who turns in an R & R Review slip for the "R & R @ Reddick" will receive a free one-day pass to Riordon Pool!

Join AFTER HOURS at the Library

AFTER HOURS is a reading group for teens. They meet every Tuesday, June 14-July 26, from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Reddick Library Annex. The first book that will be read is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". There is no sign up, you just show up and the best part is that you get the book for free at the first meeting.

Summer Reading Sign-up continues

After one week of Summer Reading Sign-up, there are 282 kids registered for the "Read Around the Year" program and 36 young adults registered for the "R&R @ Reddick". Registration continues until June 11th. Don't forget to sign up for Phun Phriday.

Friday Night at the Movies

On Friday, June 10th, the Reddick Library will be showing

"Son of the Bride" in the Reddick Library Annex.

Doors open at 6:45pm and the show starts at 7:00pm.

Summer Reading Sign-up Continues

After four days of registration for the Summer Reading Program, there are a total of 269 kids enrolled in the "Read Around the Year" and 27 young adults enrolled in "R&R @ Reddick".

Remeber: June 11th is the deadline.
